Bien qu'ayant utilisé dès ma jeunesse de nombreux appareils de qualité médiocre (Polaroid, Kodak Disk), ce n'est qu'à l'achat de mon premier reflex en 1994, un Canon EOS 5, que je découvre ce qu'est la vraie photographie, tant du point de vue technique qu'artistique. Cependant la frustration de l'attente du développement des pellicules feront que je me détournerai quelque temps de ce hobby éphémère.

C'est l'achat de mon premier reflex numérique en 2001, un Canon EOS D30, qui me fera revenir à la photographie. Mes premiers voyages en terre lointaine (Chine, Australie) me fourniront l'inspiration qui me manquait jusqu'alors.

Un safari en Tanzanie sera l'occasion de découvrir la photographie animalière et de faire naître une véritable passion. L'observation et la photographie de la faune sauvage ont été depuis lors l'objectif principal de mes voyages. De nombreux séjours en Afrique mais aussi en Inde et en Amérique du Sud m'ont fait prendre conscience de la nécessité de préserver une nature en grand danger.

While having used mediocre photo cameras since my young age (Polaroid, Kodak Disk), it's only when I bought my first SLR in 1994, a canon EOS 5, that I discovered real photography, both technically and artistically. But the frustrating wait for film development made me turn away some time from this brief hobby.

I came back to photography in 2001 when I bought my first digital SLR, a canon EOS D30. My first trips far abroad (China, Australia) provided me with the inspiration that had lacked before.

A safari in Tanzania gave me the opportunity to discover wildlife photography which turned into a real passion. Watching and photographying wildlife have since been the main reason of my travels. A number of trips in Africa but also in India and in South America have made me realize the need to preserve a nature in grand danger.
